Maval Electrical was established in 1972 by Mel Idle, an electrical engineer with many years of experience with NEEB (North-Eastern Electricity Board) and the then Teesside County Borough Council. With help from fellow director Derek Routledge and loyal and hardworking staff, he developed Maval from a small electrical installation and maintenance business into one of the North of England's largest privately owned electrical contracting companies. In 2002, Mel announced a staggered retirement plan, placing the company into the proven hands of four long-serving managers:
Andrew Routledge
Electrical Installations Contracts Manager
Ian Wake
Electrical Maintenance Contracts Manager
Darren Trotter
Plumbing and Mechanical Contracts Manager
Pauline Cook
Accounts Manager
They continue to build on Maval's proud record of reliability, trustworthiness and high-quality products and services, while at the same time expanding and diversifying the company's capabilities in response to customers' changing needs.
